Leadership Opportunities
At Fulford Academy, we take every opportunity to make every moment a teachable one. Giving all students the opportunity to become leaders in their own way is one way that Fulford Academy students realize their full potential. Through our core values of courage, respect and wisdom, students have the chance to truly make a difference in their world and the world around them.

Fulford Academy's Student Leadership Program
PREFECTS
Prefects are students who wish to be leaders within Fulford Academy. Prefects are students who are hard working, outgoing, and demonstrate leadership skills. Fulford Academy Prefects will be held to a higher standard then other students, and used as a role model for all others in the school. There are several levels of Prefects; Junior Prefects and House Prefects. Each position has additional responsibilities within the school, but also additional privileges.
Spirit Leaders
Each of the six Fulford Houses will have two Spirit Leaders, who will be responsible for promoting unity, and house spirit within each house. A Spirit Leader will be a positive, enthusiastic role model for their peers during house activities throughout the year.

DUKE OF EDINBURGH'S INTERNATIONAL AWARD
An internationally recognized Leadership Designation opportunity. While at Fulford Academy, students have the opportunity to sign up for the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Program. The Duke of Ed program believe that not all learning happens in the classroom and aims to help equip young Canadians aged 14-24 for success in life. The award empowers students to discover hidden talents, develop untapped leadership potential, and make a difference in their community and explore the wonders of the great outdoors. Students can begin their Duke of Ed journey at Fulford and continue it at their future school or university. Students who enrol in the Duke of Ed program while at Fulford work with our Dean of Students to customize their co-curricular program by completing the weekly Skills, Service, and Physical Recreation requirements of the award.
Community Involvement
Fulford works in cooperation with several different institutions in Brockville to provide volunteer opportunities for boarding students. Volunteering is a great way for Fulford students to give back to the community and engage with locals to get a true Canadian cultural experience.
Throughout the year students volunteer with many organizations, including:
