Fulford Academy students at the Terry Fox Run in Brockville, Ontario

The 37th Annual Terry Fox Run was held at Thousand Islands Secondary School last weekend and Fulford Academy students were present to honour this Iconic Canadian.

After being diagnosed with cancer and having his right leg amputated at age 15, Terry Fox decided to run across Canada and raise money for cancer research. His journey, “The Marathon of Hope” lasted 143 days and 5,373km before he had to stop running. Terry’s legacy lives on worldwide and the annual Terry Fox Run continues to raise money for cancer research.

Fulford students actively and proudly took part in Brockville Terry Fox run over the weekend. After learning about and being amazed by Terry's story, some of our students even decided to run instead of walk! Organizers of the Brockville event say that more than $10,000 was raised in Brockville for the Terry Fox Foundation.
