BİR MESAJ
Tüm Fulford Topluluğuna merhaba,
Well, that was an interesting month and a half eh? Before anything else, I want to say a huge thank you and congratulations to all of our students, staff, and families. We made it through yet another tough time and have done so in excellent shape. We have supported one another, cheered one another on, and consoled one another. While we are not “back to normal” I can proudly say, we have adapted to the new normal, and are seeing a brighter future. We have lots to look forward to, and as long as we all keep doing the right thing, this Spring is going to be vastly different than last year. Fingers crossed. Thank you all once again.
Onto the new stuff. We are now into our second semester. New classes, new teachers, lots of excitement! Our grade 12s, as crazy as it may seem are entering their last semester of high school. As well, we have recently been accepted as a member of the UNESCO Associated Schools Network. One of only eight schools in Ontario to have this designation, and one of only three Private schools. Not bad! What this does is open up many opportunities for student advancement, advanced-level learning, and resource sharing, and new partnerships for Fulford Academy both in the Brockville area and frankly the rest of the world. There will be more information and details to show as the semester rolls on, and events that we will be hosting (virtually of course) and attending. We want to continue to provide our students with opportunities and a learning environment that is simply not available anywhere else.
Thank you again, to everyone, and here’s to a great second semester and a fantastic 2021 school year.
January has been a difficult month for many students across Ontario. This is no exception for students at Fulford Academy. The strict lock-down and stay at home order have been stressful on the mental health of everyone, but especially students. I am incredibly proud of how resilient our student population has been during these unprecedented and difficult times. Even though they have lost the freedom to do many of their weekly activities like signing out for dinner, going to the movies, going to sporting events, or weekend trips to entertainment activities, students have remained upbeat and positive in their lives. Our day students hopefully took advantage of the opportunity to spend more time with family whether through family game nights, movie nights, or outdoor activities. In the dormitory, the students have been doing a great job leaning on teachers for support. They have been keeping busy with board games, video games, outdoor hikes, and other activities. As mentioned above, I am truly proud of the way our students have adapted to make the best out of a bad situation. Hopefully, as we move towards the spring months students will have more opportunity to get out into the community!
It is hard to believe that the second semester of this 2020-2021 school year is already underway! In so many ways the first semester was a success and we look forward to building on this success in 2021. As always we have to thank our incredible teaching staff for establishing a learning culture that is fun, engaging, caring and supportive. Our teachers commit to making each student experience a Fulford Academy positive and it is this commitment that makes our school such a unique institution.
There have been a lot of developments happening behind the scenes with respect to program updates and offerings. Over the next couple of months our Team will be communicating these updates to our partners and their prospective families in the form of virtual meetings and presentations so please be on the lookout for these invitations.
If you are a family who has had a positive experience with Fulford Academy and would like to share your story then we would like to hear from you! Student and parent testimonials are always appreciated and your valuable feedback goes a long way in helping prospective families make informed decisions about whether Fulford Academy is the right match for them. Please call 613-341-9330 or email to share your experience: admissions@fulfordacademy.com.

In January 2021, our boarding prefects worked at the dorm to help students find ways to stay busy and connected. The students took part in cooking activities as well as getting outdoors to enjoy some of the beautiful winter weather. From January 18 – 23 students and staff participated in a Virtual Scavenger Hunt to show their Fulford Spirit. Participants were asked to find objects to represent each letter in the name of their house (Beatty, Fraser, Green, and Jones) and create a photo that was posted on the Fulford Academy social media pages. Delaram’s entry for Green House took the top prize with honorable mention to both of the staff entries as well. Congratulations, Delaram!
Looking forward to February, we will be celebrating our annual Spirit Week from Feb. 8 – 11. This year students will be looking to dress to represent the following themes:
Feb. 8 – Favourite Character/ Team day
Feb. 9 – Neon/bright colours day
Feb. 10 – Twin Day
Feb. 11 – PJ day
There will be presentations through our social media platforms to connect our online students as well. “Best Dressed” will be featured on the “Wall of Fame” at the end of the week. This is a great time to have a bit of fun and come together as a whole community!

Hello Everyone! I wish to let everyone know how excited we are in the kitchen here at Fulford Academy. In January, we began work on revamping our full menu and are looking forward to sharing this with students and staff in the coming weeks. In an effort to keep students aware of what they will be eating, we will soon be adding tablets to our kitchen prep areas that will showcase all of our menu items and the ingredients that were used in each meal. I would like to send a special shoutout to Julie and Amy in our kitchen. They have worked so hard to make our students happy and we are all so thankful for their efforts. Enjoy and Bon Appetit!
