Weekend Wrap Up Feb 10-11
The Brockville Winter Classic is a festival of winter fun, including events such as a Snow Ball, a Family Skate, an NHL Alumni Game featuring legendary players of the New York Rangers facing off against the All-Stars of Canadian Tire and many more events! The funds raised through this festival support enhancing the Brockville Rotary Park – a locally funded facility that offers free recreation for the entire community. The Brockville Winter Classic Committee has created a multiyear plan to continue to support this community asset. Some FA students took part in the Snow Ball – an event to kick of the Winter Classic festival and clearly enjoyed themselves. They even showed off their dancing skills…on skates! This was an after-dark skating party with a light display and live DJ that offered free hot chocolate (which did not disappoint) and homemade mini donuts which the students raved about!
Check out the dance moves (on skates) of this crew at the Brockville Winter Classic Snow Ball!
To add to our weekend of local winter activities, Arturo and Tima took advantage of all the snow we got last week and spent the day at Memorial Hill in Brockville. In honour of the 2018 Olympics in PyeongChang, these two pretended to be Olympians as they raced down the hill on their toboggans! And what better (and more Canadian) way to end off a day in the snow than with a stop at Tim Horton’s! Memorial Hill is THE place in Brockville for the ultimate tobogganing experience and it is a trip that FA students make on a regular basis during our Canadian Winters!
